We, at Field Notes Farm, are seeking to exchange a CSA share of produce for the creative works of local artists.
Proposals will be accepted through March 15.
Artists selected will be notified by April 6.
We grow over 100 varieties of vegetables on 2 acres in Custer, Wisconsin, utilizing passive hoophouses and organic and biodynamic farming methods. We’ve been growing for the last 7 years, and we are jazzed for our 3rd season at Field Notes Farm! We’ve planted a variety of perennial fruits and berries. In addition, we continue planting a 5 acre cider apple orchard for hard/fresh cider production.
The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture):
Every week or every other week from June through November, our CSA members receive a share of vegetables. This season, we’ll be growing for 50 households, along with production for local farm markets, restaurants and local retail stores. We serve the Appleton, Stevens Point, and Amherst areas.
Art is awesome! Artists serve a critical role depicting the human experience in our community. We are looking for an artist to join us for the season, producing art that gives our members a new way to experience their farm, vegetables, and Community Supported Agriculture experience.
In exchange, we will provide the artist with a CSA share full of delicious vegetables, fruits, and herbs.
We are looking for an artist interested in projects in the following mediums:
The artist receives a CSA Share (valued at $675 or $350, depending on how much you eat!) and all other privileges associated with being a member of our CSA Program.
Your art is promoted first and foremost to our CSA members. We also share via our social media community. We want to support your continued work as an artist and make it a point to continue to follow and support your work after your season with us.
Field Notes Farm receives rights and originals of project artwork to use and display on our farm, website, and with our CSA.
We are not seeking marketing or promotional materials.
We want to support the natural creative process of you as an artist.
Send us a proposal:
– Describe your project idea.
– What is your interest in farming/food/people?
– How will your project enhance our work as farmers and benefit our farm and CSA?
– How will your project develop throughout the season?
Please provide images of your previous works if available.
Proposals will be reviewed by 2 Farmers (us) & 1 Artist & 1 CSA Member
