Farm Seeks Artist 2016

We at Field Notes Farm are seeking to exchange a CSA share equivalent of our fresh herbs/vegetables for the creative works of local artists.

We will be accepting proposals through March 15.
Artists selected will be notified by April 1.
Information about last years artists can be found on our website — here.

About Us:

We grow over 100 varieties of vegetables on 2 acres in Custer, Wisconsin, utilizing passive hoophouses and organic, sustainable production methods. We’ve been farming for the last 6 years, and we are excited for our 2nd season at Field Notes Farm! We plan to plant and nursery a variety of perennial fruits and berries. In addition, we are planting a 5 acre cider apple orchard for commercial hard/fresh cider production.
We are looking for an artist to help describe, depict and enhance our work.

The CSA (Community Supported Agriculture):

Every week or every other week from June through November, our CSA members receive a share of vegetables.  This season, we’ll be growing for ~50 households, along with production for local farm markets, restaurants and local retail stores. We serve the Appleton, Stevens Point, and Amherst areas.

The Art-Share:

Art is awesome! We are looking for an artist to join us for the season, producing art that gives our members a new way to experience their farm, their vegetables, and the Community Supported Agriculture experience. In exchange, we will provide the artist with a CSA share full of delicious vegetables.

We  are looking for an artist interested in projects in the following mediums:

  • Wood crafts
  • Poetry
  • Music
  • Performance Art
  • Illustrations
  • Prints
  • Digital Graphics
  • Sketches
  • Videography
  • Photography
  • Others…

The Details:

The artist receives a CSA Share (valued at $675 or $350, depending on how much you eat!) and all other privileges associated with being a member of our CSA Program.

Field Notes Farm receives rights and originals of project artwork to use and display on our farm, website, and with our CSA.
